Designed at your kitchen table
I come to your home, usually in the evening, and design a kitchen that fits your house, your family and the way you cook. More than twenty years in the trade, hundreds of kitchens, and every design still starts with a good conversation.
A personal session at your home, in your own kitchen space. Together we look at the room, the light, the walking lines and how you live your day and your kitchen. You get my honest view, a first layout on paper and my take on what the new concept could become.
The design
Then I work the kitchen out into a design that is right: layout, materials, light and appliances, tuned to your wishes, needs and budget.
The build
If you want me to stay involved until the kitchen is in, that is possible. I arrange what needs arranging and you do not have to chase ten different parties.

No showroom models. Every kitchen below was designed for the house and the family that cooks in it today. I let the work speak.
I have been designing kitchens for more than twenty years and I am not tired of it yet. What still gets me is the moment a family stands at the new island for the first time and the kitchen does what it should do: bring people together.
My favourite kitchen is the Indonesian one. Because of my roots, but also because of the way people cook there: open, social, with care for what ends up on the table. I try to bring that warmth back into every design.
I work in people's homes because you do not design a kitchen from a showroom. You design it from the house it is going to live in.
A home visit costs 150 euros excluding VAT (181.50 including). You pay after the visit, in cash or via a payment request. If you continue with a design, the full amount is credited.
Where do you work?
In The Hague, the Westland and the surrounding region: including Naaldwijk, Monster, 's-Gravenzande, Kwintsheul, Wateringen, Maassluis, Rijswijk, Voorburg and Delft. If you live further away, just send a message.
When do you come by?
Usually in the evening, at a time when you are both home. A home visit takes an hour and a half to two hours.
What do I get after the home visit?
A first layout on paper, my honest view of the room and the light, and a clear story about what a design with me costs. Then you decide whether we continue.
Do you also design the rest of the renovation?
I design the kitchen and think along about what is needed around it: plumbing, lighting, floor, structural openings. If you want me to guide the build, that is possible as a separate arrangement.
Can I commission just a design?
Yes. The design is a stand-alone service. What you do with it afterwards is up to you. If you want me to guide the build, we arrange that separately.

An hour and a half to two hours at your home. I look, listen and ask how you live and cook. You get a first layout on paper.

If you want to go further, I work it out into a complete design with materials, light and appliances. We discuss the price at the table, per project.

From design to build, with or without my guidance. You decide how much you hand over.

Article 1. Definitions
Contractor: Felix Quartero, trading as Quartero Interior and Kitchen, based in The Hague region, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 67405762, VAT number NL153044925B02. Client: the natural or legal person entering into an agreement with the Contractor. Agreement: any arrangement between Contractor and Client concerning a home visit, a design or guidance during the realisation of a kitchen. Work: all activities carried out on assignment, including advice, design and guidance during realisation.
Article 2. Applicability
These terms apply to all offers, quotations and agreements involving the Contractor. Deviations are only valid when agreed in writing.
Article 3. The home visit
A home visit is a personal advice session at the Client's home. A fixed fee of 150 euros excluding VAT (181.50 euros including VAT) applies. This amount is paid after the visit, in cash or via a payment request. If the Client commissions a design after the home visit, the full amount of the home visit is credited against the price of that design. A home visit can be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance; for later cancellation or no-show the full fee is due.
Article 4. Quotations and offers
Quotations for a design or guidance are without obligation, unless stated otherwise, and valid for 30 days after issue. All prices are in euros, including VAT for consumers and excluding VAT for business clients, unless stated otherwise. No rights can be derived from obvious errors or mistakes in a quotation.
Article 5. Formation of the agreement
An agreement for a home visit is formed once the Contractor has confirmed the request and the appointment date in writing (by email or WhatsApp). An agreement for a design or guidance is formed when the Client confirms the quotation in writing.
Article 6. Performance
The Contractor performs the work to the best of his ability, with the care that may be expected of a professional. For the realisation of a kitchen (delivery, demolition, plumbing, installation) the Contractor may recommend or engage third parties; the agreement for that work is then concluded with the party concerned, unless agreed otherwise in writing. The Client provides timely and correct information and access to the home.
Article 7. Prices and payment
The home visit is paid as described in article 3. For a design a deposit of 50 percent applies on commission and 50 percent on delivery of the design, unless stated otherwise in the quotation. The payment term is 14 days after the invoice date. In case of late payment the Client is in default by operation of law and statutory interest is due.
Article 8. Design and intellectual property
Designs, drawings and 3D images remain the intellectual property of the Contractor. After full payment the Client may use the design for the realisation of their own kitchen. The design may not be passed on to third parties for commercial purposes without permission.
Article 9. Changes and additional work
Changes after approval of a design are recorded in writing. Additional work is quoted and invoiced separately.
Article 10. Liability
The Contractor is not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage or business damage. Total liability is limited to the invoice amount paid by the Client for the agreement concerned. The Contractor is not liable for damage arising from incorrect or incomplete information from the Client, nor for work performed by third parties with whom the Client has concluded an agreement.
Article 11. Cancellation
Article 3 applies to the home visit. If a design commission is cancelled after confirmation, the hours and costs incurred up to that point are due, with the deposit as a minimum.
Article 12. Complaints
Complaints about work delivered must be reported in writing within 14 days of discovery via felix@quartero.nl. The Contractor responds within 14 working days.
Article 13. Applicable law
Dutch law applies to all agreements and these terms. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the district of The Hague.

I handle your data with care. This statement explains which data I process, why, how long I keep it and which rights you have, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who I am
Felix Quartero, trading as Quartero Interior and Kitchen, The Hague region. CoC 67405762, VAT NL153044925B02, felix@quartero.nl, +31 6 11 24 92 92. I am the controller for the processing of your personal data.
2. Which data I process
Through the request form on this website: your name, phone number, email address, town, the desired period for your kitchen, your description of your house and wish, optionally photos of the current situation, and how you found me. During and after a home visit: your address, details of your home and room, wishes and material choices, and what we discuss. For invoicing: the details needed to draw up an invoice. I also keep our communication by email, phone and WhatsApp. I only use images of your kitchen for publication with your explicit consent; I never publish client names.
3. What I use your data for
To answer your request and schedule a home visit, to make a design and carry out the agreement, to communicate with you about your project, for invoicing and bookkeeping, to comply with legal obligations, and to know through which channel people find me so I can tune my work better. For promotion, such as photos of your kitchen, only with your consent.
4. Legal basis
I process your data on the basis of the performance of an agreement or its preparation (article 6(1)(b) GDPR), a legal obligation (sub c, in particular the tax retention obligation), consent (sub a) for publication purposes, and legitimate interest (sub f) for maintaining the client relationship and tracking the origin of requests.
5. Where your data is stored
Requests through the form and our communication are stored in my client system (CRM), which I use to plan appointments and follow up. I have a data processing agreement with the provider of this system. Data may be stored on servers outside the European Union; in that case this happens under the standard contractual clauses approved by the EU.
6. How long I keep data
Client and project data 7 years because of the tax retention obligation. Requests that do not lead to a commission 2 years. Communication as long as it is relevant to the relationship, with a maximum of 2 years after completion. Portfolio images as long as I use them; on request I remove them.
7. Who I share data with
Only with my accountant for invoicing and tax returns, with the provider of my client system, with executing parties (such as installers or suppliers) when you ask me to guide the realisation and this is necessary for the work, and with government bodies when legally required. I never sell data to third parties.
8. Security
I take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, including secured devices, strong passwords, two-step verification and encrypted storage.
9. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. To see how many visitors the site has and through which channel they arrive, I use privacy-friendly analytics without personal data. Functional cookies needed for the site and the form to work do not require consent. Should I at any point choose analytics that do process personal data, I will ask for your consent first.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing and withdrawal of consent given earlier. Send an email to felix@quartero.nl to exercise any of these rights. I respond within 4 weeks.
11. Complaints
If you have a complaint about how I handle your data, please contact me first so we can resolve it together. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
